The short answer is yes. By using and paying for a phone number you effectively own it and can port or transfer that number to the provider of your choosing. Having said that, a hosted system is in the cloud, so moving does not affect your ability to use the same number. Your number “points” to a hosted system that provides the functionality and then uses find-me/follow me or other features to parse calls to your cell phones, desk phones or voice mailboxes.

I would like to alter the number of my voice mail on my Qwest landline. Instead of connecting callers to my Qwest voice mail box when I fail to answer, I would like callers be to forwarded to a separate phone number where I set up a voice mail box. Is this possible and if so how do I go about doing it?

I believe that you would need Call forwarding. Call Customer Service at Qwest and ask them how to do this.

I recently purchased a one year subscription to a VOIP service, however, they don’t offer toll free numbers. Does anyone know where you can get a toll free number and forward it to an existing VOIP number?

I just signed up (2 months) w/Sun Rocket VOIP. 9.00 a year per line. And they sent be a new phone system (.00) for signing up.

We recently had a new alcatel phone system installed, but whenever you pick up the main phone(switchboard) it defaults to speaker. How do I change this? I am not too sure but the model might be Display 23KD-06.

if it came with a booklet just look in there to fix it. if not, you can call alcatel from a different phone, here’s there #: Alcatel Mobile Phones Customer Support Hotline: 877-702-3444. have your cell phone available so they can walk you through how to get the speakerphone turned off.
